Glenn T. Suddaby, United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York; John F. Pikus, Special Agent-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Albany Division; Michael Cox, Chief of Endicott Police Department; and James Dadamio, Director of Broome County Security Division , make the following announcement: Michael Monnat, 61, of Endicott, New York, was sentenced today in Binghamton Federal Court to a term of 76 months in federal prison and 10 years of supervised release following imprisonment. The investigation was conducted by the Southern Tier Cyber Predator Task Force (STCPTF)1 , and led to the eventual indictment and prosecution of Michael Monnat. On January 16,2008 Monnat pleaded guilty to Receiving Child Pornography Via The Internet. Monnat admitted in his plea of guilty that he knowingly received and downloaded child pornography videos and images from the internet with the use of his computer. The videos and images depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Miroslav Lovric.
