Felton, Superintendent, New York State Police ; and James Dadamio, Director of Broome County Security Division , make the following announcement: As a result of an investigation conducted by the Southern Tier Cyber Predator Task Force 1(STCPTF) , Steven Hunt, 53, of Unadilla, New York was indicted today in a federal indictment charging Hunt with 6 Counts of Production Of Child Pornography and 1 Count of Possession Of 2Child Pornography Materials. The defendant previously appeared before United States Magistrate Judge George H. Lowe, who ordered that the defendant be held in federal custody pending trial. A trial date has yet to be set. The federal indictment alleges that between August of 2006 and November of 2007, Hunt knowingly produced child pornography by using a camera to photograph a minor in sexually explicit positions and acts. The indictment further alleges that the images depict a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and that Hunt possessed the child pornography. Hunt faces a maximum penalty of 30 years imprisonment; a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years imprisonment; and a $250,000 maximum fine. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Miroslav Lovric.
