PRESS RELEASE

United States Attorney Glenn T. Suddaby today announced the arrests of two individuals on child pornography charges.

Separate federal criminal complaints charge DAVID GLINSKI, age 29, of Solvay, and DAVID RANDALL, 35, of Utica, with receipt and possession of child pornography over the Internet.

DAVID GLINSKI

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court alleges that a laptop computer used solely by DAVID GLINSKI was obtained pursuant to a search warrant issued in March, 2007, in relation to an investigation into GLINSKI’S brother, Anthony Glinski.  (Anthony Glinski was arrested on similar charges on March 14, 2007.)  The complaint further states that forensic analysis of DAVID GLINSKI’S computer revealed numerous images of child pornography downloaded to that computer.

DAVID GLINSKI’S arrest was the result of an investigation by the New York State Police, Computer Crime Unit - Central Region, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  GLINSKI made his initial appearance today in federal court before Hon. Gustave J. DiBianco, United States Magistrate Judge, and was released upon conditions of pre-trial supervision.

GLINSKI faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 5 years imprisonment, a maximum penalty of 20 years, and fines of up to $250,000.  The charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

DAVID RANDALL

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court alleges that DAVID RANDALL came to the attention of Whitesboro, New York Village Police Officers when he was observed, on May 26, 2007, taking pictures of young boys at a church festival.  Upon further investigation, police learned that RANDALL is a registered sex offender, and with RANDALL’S consent, they obtained five computers and approximately 200 compact disks from RANDALL’S residence.   The complaint further states that preliminary forensic analysis of three of RANDALL’S compact disks and one of his computers revealed several hundred images of child pornography.

DAVID RANDALL’S arrest was the result of an investigation by the Village of Whitesboro Police Department, the City of Utica Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.          RANDALL made his initial appearance today in federal court before Hon. Gustave J. DiBianco, United States Magistrate Judge, and is currently detained without bail.

RANDALL faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years imprisonment, a maximum penalty of 40 years, and fines of up to $250,000.  The charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Both GLINSKI and RANDALL are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa Fletcher, and are being brought as part of Project Safe Childhood.

In February 2006, Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.
