BURLINGTON MAN CONVICTED OF BANK ROBBERY

 



The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont stated today that a Burlington man, Peter K. Holland, 53, was convicted today by a jury in the U.S. District Court in Brattleboro, Vermont, of the crime of bank robbery.

The jury found Holland guilty of robbing the Vermont Development Credit Union at 18 Pearl Street in Burlington on July 6, 2004.

No date has been set for sentencing. Holland, who has five prior bank robbery convictions for robbing banks in Vermont and Arizona in the late 1980s, faces up to 20 years in prison. The exact sentence will be determined in accordance with the federal sentencing guidelines.

U.S. Attorney Thomas D. Anderson commended the efforts of the Burlington Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their successful investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John M. Conroy was the prosecutor. Holland was represented by Attorney Thomas Zonay at trial.
