Capital District Safe Streets Task Force (CDSSTF)

The mission of the Capital District Safe Streets Task Force is to identify and dismantle criminal enterprises/organizations and violent street gangs within the Capital District.  The Task Force conducts investigations that lead to the prosecution of those involved in the criminal offenses under local, state, and federal laws.  Special emphasis is placed on groups and/or gangs that commit high impact violent crimes, including homicide, felonious assault, drug trafficking, extortion, and weapons violations.

The Task Force consists of officers and agents from the: Albany Police Department, Troy Police Department, Schenectady Police Department, Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, Cohoes Police Department, Coeymans Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  The Task Force also assists agencies throughout Vermont and New York State.
