PAUL
M HOLSTEIN
Paul M. Holstein was born in Red
Bank, New Jersey. He is a 1988 graduate of Saint Peter's College, where
he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He received his
law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1991. He was sworn
in as a Special Agent of the FBI in 1995.
Mr. Holstein served as a judicial law clerk for a United States District
Court Judge upon graduation from Fordham. Following his clerkship, he
was appointed an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, New
York. As an Assistant District Attorney, he prepared and argued
appellate briefs and conducted hearings and trials.
Mr. Holstein began his FBI career in the San Francisco Division,
assigned to investigate bank robberies, fugitives, and other reactive
crimes. During his tenure in San Francisco, he also investigated gangs,
drug violations, and International Terrorism, and served as a legal
advisor. Mr. Holstein was transferred to the New York Office in 1999
where he was promoted to Associate Division Counsel. In 2001, Mr.
Holstein received a promotion to FBI Headquarters, where he served in
the Inspection Division and the Director's Office.
Mr. Holstein was appointed Chief Division Counsel of the Albany Division
in July 2005. In addition to his legal duties, Mr. Holstein also serves
as the Division's Media Coordinator.
Mr. Holstein has been married for six years. He and his wife, Robyn,
have two children.
