WELCOME TO ALBANY, NY

The FBI is the principal investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice. As of December 31, 2006, the FBI employed 12,632 Special Agents and 18,160 Professional support personnel including more than 2,160 Intelligence Analysts and more than 1,000 Information Technology experts in 56 Divisions  / Field Offices, over 400 Resident Agencies, and 59 foreign Legal Attaches.

The Albany Division of the FBI serves the eastern part of upstate New York, and the State of Vermont. The Albany Division operates from its headquarters office at 200 McCarty Avenue, Albany, New York. The Albany Division also has Resident Agencies, which are smaller offices managed by Albany, NY, in Binghamton, NY, Ithaca, NY, Kingston, NY, Plattsburgh, NY, Syracuse, NY, Utica, NY, Burlington, VT and Rutland, VT.

FBI PRIORITIES:

  • Combat transnational and national criminal organizations and enterprises.

  • Support federal, state, county, municipal, and international partners.

  • Upgrade technology to successfully perform the FBI's mission.

The FBI operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The office is  open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m., to 5:00 p.m. If you need to speak with an FBI representative at any time you may call (518) 465-7551, and someone will assist you.
